The entire world celebrates the changing earth and collective consciousness of the free-thinking spiritualistic age of enlightenment for all, the twentieth century and beyond. A common catche phrase in many western countries, New Agers today claim to have a line on the coming astrological Age of Aquarius, an understanding of the relationship between mind, body and spirit, a sense of oneness with all of existence, cosmic vision, sometimes chanelling of divine guides, such as animal guides, archangels and alien entities that want to help humans. Widespread reports of transcendental experiences, past life regressions and visitaions litter the bookshelves of stores, libraries and homes across American and European countries since the 1960s when.the emergence of high-thinking movements forked out like the branches of a gigantic tree. The spark of new interest in world religions, spiritualism and philosophy gave rise to meditation and yoga groups, worship circles, transcendence study and practice groups, widespread self-help buzz. The New Age movement has drawn from eastern and western advanced thinking, inspired at times from the teachings of Buddhism, Hermeticism, Hinduism, Zorostrianism, Shamanism, Mayanism, Ceremonial magic, Sufism, Taoism, New Thought, Wiccan, Neo-Paganism etc. From this collection came new music styles, re-emergence of world culture traditional clothing styles, new musical styles, crafts, coming through especially in specialty shops, fairs and festivals.
